On June 28, 2019, eight (8) IP leaders/members of the Mindanao Indigeous Peoples Council of Elders and Leaders (MIPCEL) and Mindanao Indigenous Peoples Youth Organization (MIPYO) were sent to America for a 26-day advocacy on the situation of the Indigenous Peoples on the ground and the atrocities committed by the CTGs.
A total of 38 engagements in the USA were made, all of which gained support for the IPs of Mindanao. The IP leaders engaged with foreign governments, officials and representatives of the UN New York and Washington D.C. known to be members of the powerful Group of Seven (G7) and with the Filipino communities in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Chicago.
